Overcast skies again and a small SE swell around 1-2ft with the winds up from the SE early at over 10 knots. They're are forecast to go around to the SSE later. There's nothing to get excited about, just some small ones in the S corners and on the E facing points early on the incoming tide

Get out early with the wind set to swing onshore and increase through the late morning. Mt Coolum, Marcoola and twin waters with tide for some fast short rides. Sunshine and northern beaches will offer a bit more size.’

‘Mid-Coast SA: Conditions are clean and glassy along the Mid coast early with light East winds, and surf around 1' on the full-ish morning tide. The dropping tide won't help it much, and mid morning expect the sets to become scarce.’

‘South-Coast SA: Swell has dropped overnight but conditions are fairly clean early with very light NE winds. Surf is around 3' inside Middleton Bay with bigger sets off Suicides and the Point, and still 4 - 5' along the Day St. - Goolwa stretch.’

‘Whitesands Bay: 3-4 ft clean waves today with moderate offshore winds. Good setty waves this morning with some clean shoulder high sets on the outgiong tide. The waves will continue to push through and could get a bit bigger around midday. Smaller for a couple of hours at low tide and then will get good again on the push with some 4 ft sets. Very good waves today, similar conditions tomorrow, 3 ft Monday.’

7.20am Saturdday. Smaller than yesterday and still too high in Rest Bay, which looks about 2-3ft on sets. Coney Beach is 2ft+ and clean. We should get 2ft in Rest Bay as it comes off the rocks but will drop off most of the morning and then give us 2-3ft on the push this afternoon. Big tides, so it will be up on the rocks by about 5pm and then you might be better off looking for alternatives.

Clear skies and a small clean ESE swell around 2ft with some bigger ones on the more open beaches. The winds are light WSW early and are forecast to go around to the SSE later. Water quality is poor from the heavy rain of the last few days. Small waves all along the open beaches early on the rising tide while the wind is offshore. Later try the E facing points.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has stated that a magnitude 8.2 Earthquake beneath the Sea of Okhosk did not generate a destructive Tsunami. However, we suggest that local interests also listen for statements from the Japan Meteorological Agency, located much closer to the source.
