7.20am Saturdday. Smaller than yesterday and still too high in Rest Bay, which looks about 2-3ft on sets. Coney Beach is 2ft+ and clean. We should get 2ft in Rest Bay as it comes off the rocks but will drop off most of the morning and then give us 2-3ft on the push this afternoon. Big tides, so it will be up on the rocks by about 5pm and then you might be better off looking for alternatives.

The waves will continue through to low tide when it will drop off a bit while it’s slack around lunch time. It should pick up again this afternoon with clean 3 ft sets. Good waves today, very good waves this weekend.’

Coolum:
‘Coolum surf: 5-25 knots SE. Picture perfect start to the day with Blue skies, light offshore breezes early and fun size waves. Get out early with the wind set to swing onshore and increase through the late morning. Mt Coolum, Marcoola and twin waters with tide for some fast short rides. Sunshine and northern beaches will offer a bit more size.’

Wave Bandit: Hands On OH&S Oil & Gas Safety Services (tel: 0458 544 287)
Clear skies and a small clean ESE swell around 2ft with some bigger ones on the more open beaches. The winds are light WSW early and are forecast to go around to the SSE later. Water quality is poor from the heavy rain of the last few days. Small waves all along the open beaches early on the rising tide while the wind is offshore. Later try the E facing points.

‘South-Coast SA: The swell has picked up overnight along the South Coast, although probably not as much as EVERYONE was predicting. Middleton has waves around 4- 5' inside the Bay, but off Suicides and off the Point it's bigger on the sets and pretty raw with 10 - 15 knot West winds.’

‘Tullan is the best spot for a surf today with clean 2-3 foot peaks along the beach. The sun is out and the wind is offshore. The peak is a foot and clean, maybe better on the pushing tide. Rossnowlagh is a foot and clean. Tullan is the place to be today and for the weekend. Should be 2-3 foot and clean all weekend and with temperatures forecast in the mid teens it should be a great weekend in Bundoran.Low tide: 12:19, 0.6m High tide: 18:28, 3.9m’
