PorthcawlSurf (School & Hire):
‘Porthcawl: Dropping tide and Rest Bay is 3ft+ and blown out with strong onshore winds. Coney Beach has a little more shape at about 2ft but still not pretty. Low tide everywhere will be pretty horrendous - Best bet for any kind of surf will be Coney Beach later this afternoon which should give us 3-4ft and surfable towards high tide.’

‘Coolum surf: 1.4 metres(5') 5-20 knots NNE. Great day and weekend ahead with clear blue skies, stacks of swell waves and light offshore breezes early. Sunshine, A/bay and norhtern beaches will offer the most size and is the pick as winds get up. Wutulla, Kawana and Maroochy stretches all will be good with the morning tide on it.’

Surf South Oz:
‘Mid-Coast SA: Light NNE winds are adding a slight lump along the Mid Coast this morning, but there few waves on the reefs around 2'. The tide bottoms out around 7:30am then comes in until mid arvo. Look for a pulse of swell on the incoming tide, but expect NW winds to chop it up mid morning and tend onshore Westerly later to 20 knots.’

‘Fanore surf report: Well forecast is short and sweet but not great for this weekend. One word..flat. We do have a tiny wave there today, but it does look like it will be fairly flat for the weekend. So we're not planning on doing much surfing unfortunately, instead will be launching the sea kayaks to get on the water. If you're interested on giving it a go just get in touch. Have a good weekend.’

Ma Simes Surf hut:
‘Whitesands Bay: 5-6 ft fairly clean waves today with strong cross shore winds. Plenty of waves this morning but the strong winds make catching the outside waves tricky while the tide is out. There will be good size waves all day. Possibly more surfable when the tide comes in when it will be more sheltered. So big waves all day with plenty of wind, bit better this afternoon, or a search for a more sheltered spot could be a good call. 5 ft tomorrow, 3 ft Sunday.’

7.30am Friday. Biggish and windy and wet. Dropping tide and Coney Beach is about 2ft+, Rest Bay is around 3ft+. Coney Beach is a mess but Rest Bay is just about surfable - that won't last long as the wind is forecast to go onshore this afternoon. Best bet today is Coney Beach later this afternoon which should give us 3ft+. Rest Bay is likely to be a mess most of the day.

Yet.The wind is blowing steadily from the south sou' west and it is quite fresh but more of a force 5 or 6ish than a storm. And even the Sun has it's shiny little hat on this morning! That could all change yet though!’
