Ma Simes Surf hut:
‘Whitesands Bay: 1-2 ft waves today with howling cross/offshore winds. Loads of spray coming off the back of the waves today with really windy offshore conditions. There are waves but probably too windy this morning to have a reasonable ride. Might be able to get a bit of shelter when the tide is in in the north corner and a good possibility of the waves picking up a bit after high.. Bigger and wndier down the south end of the beach but not really surfable there. So some waves today but the windy conditions make it very difficult. Small tomorrow and Tuesday.’

‘Harlyn report: It is a rare thing to see this side roaring while the other side is being blown flat. Big and stormy, windswept waves are rolling up the beach, driven by those storm force winds, onshore here and making this place look entirely different today!’

‘Constantine Bay report: It's just a little breezy out there! A northerly storm has been whiplashing the coast all night long, battering the hedgerows, tugging at those fat and heavy trees and just savaging any lightweight structures. It's one of those mornings when you might just want to tug the duvet a little higher and roll over.’

Surf South Oz:
‘Mid-Coast SA: Light NE winds are taking the edge off what would have been glassy conditions on the Mid, but there are still some fairly clean, small waves around 1' on the reefs. As soon as the tide starts moving out sets will become rarer, and you'll have to scrape what you can on the beachies through low tide at lunch.’

Surf South Oz:
‘South-Coast SA: East winds have been into it on the South Coast overnight, and despite a bigger, very South swell, it's not looking epic first thing. Surf is lumpy at around 4 - 6' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, with slightly less wind effected 3 - 5' surf around at Chiton / Gap.’

7.30am Saturday. Not much to say, IT'S FLAT. Well, not quite, it's about 6 inches breaking in ankle depth of water. But it will be completely flat as the tide drops this afternoon. It's windy too, offshore - now keep those inflatables out of the water.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has stated that a magnitude 8.2 Earthquake beneath the Sea of Okhosk did not generate a destructive Tsunami. However, we suggest that local interests also listen for statements from the Japan Meteorological Agency, located much closer to the source.
