Intermediate and Beginner group surfed Padang padang at dawn this morning, shoulder high on sets, clean waves. Advaced group will go to Uluwatu after lunch for 2nd session. Sunny, light, offshore winds.’

It's more Winter than Summer out there this morning with that squally wind ripping across the headland and rattling the hedgerows, a grey cloud cover hiding any sunshine that we might dream of. Yep, it is a windy, damp and chilly start to today! And the surf is suffering as a result.’

Coolum:
‘Coolum surf: 1.0 metres(3') 20-30 knots SSE. It's still looking like Lake Pacific this morning. The SSE swell is only flat to 1ft on the more open beaches. Light W winds early, that are forecast to go strong SSW later in the day with gale force winds and a rising swell tomorrow. The tide is high just before 7am, dropping to a low at 1pm.’

almost flat still but looks to be a bit bigger, try the open stretches on the outgoing tide with the thickest and highest volume board you can find, winds are offshore and increasing in strength, could be pretty blowy from the SSW by mid morning

Coolum:
‘Coolum surf: 1.5 metres(5') 10-15 knots WSW. More of the same with it still looking a lot like a lake this morning with tiny, clean conditions. The SSE swell is only flat to 1ft. Light WSW winds early that are forecast to go SSW later in the day. The tide is high early, dropping to a low at 10.50am, coming back into a high at 5.20pm.’

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has stated that a magnitude 8.2 Earthquake beneath the Sea of Okhosk did not generate a destructive Tsunami. However, we suggest that local interests also listen for statements from the Japan Meteorological Agency, located much closer to the source.
