‘Coolum surf: 1.0 metres(3') 20-30 knots SSE. It's still looking like Lake Pacific this morning. The SSE swell is only flat to 1ft on the more open beaches. Light W winds early, that are forecast to go strong SSW later in the day with gale force winds and a rising swell tomorrow. The tide is high just before 7am, dropping to a low at 1pm.’

The SSE swell has picked up to 2-3ft on the more open beaches with fresh SW winds early, that are forecast to go gale force SSW later in the day. The tide is high just before 8am, dropping to a low at 1.45pm. Get in early before the gale force SSW winds get up with waves all along the open beaches first up with the S protected stretches the best in the 2ft range.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has stated that a magnitude 8.2 Earthquake beneath the Sea of Okhosk did not generate a destructive Tsunami. However, we suggest that local interests also listen for statements from the Japan Meteorological Agency, located much closer to the source.
