Wedge in Maryland is a beach and reef break that does not work very often with no particular seasonal pattern. Works best in offshore winds from the west northwest. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the east southeast. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Watch out for urchins, rips and sharks.

FEATURE UPDATE: we now show red swell icons for 'open sea' swells that are travelling in an unfavourable direction for the surf break. In places, these swells may still wrap around coastlines and produce smaller waves at some breaks. They are also significant for windsurfers and other water users that tend to venture further off-shore.
