Tiavea Bay in Upolu is an exposed reef break that has reliable surf. Summer offers the optimum conditions for surfing. Works best in offshore winds from the south southwest. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north. Reef breaks provide lefts and rights. It very rarely gets crowded here. Hazards include rocks and sharks.
