The South Jetty in New Jersey is an exposed beach/Jetty break that has reliable surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the northwest with some shelter here from south winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the southeast. The beach break favours right handers. Best around mid tide. A fairly popluar wave that can sometimes get crowded Take care of the strong rips here.

In places, these swells may still wrap around coastlines and produce smaller waves at some breaks. They are also significant for windsurfers and other water users that tend to venture further off-shore.
