Name: The Island
Type: reef
Reliability: consistent
Best Swell: SW Offshore Wind: E

The Island on the West Coast is an exposed reef break that has consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the east. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. A right hand reef. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Hazards include rips, sharks and isolation.
