Santa Maria de Oia in Galicia is an exposed reef break that has quite consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the southeast with some shelter here from south winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northwest. There is a left hand reef break. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Rocks are a hazard.
