Surf Break: San Gregorio State Beach

San Gregorio State Beach in San Mateo is an exposed beach break that has fairly consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the east. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around mid tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Watch out for rips and sharks.
