Playa Herradura in Golfo de Nicoya is a fairly exposed reef and point break that has unreliable waves Works best in offshore winds from the east northeast. Clean groundswells prevail and the optimum swell angle is from the southwest. A left hand reef break. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising.
