Marina di Campo / Pineta in Elba is a quite exposed beach break that has inconsistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the north northeast. Windswells are much more typical than groudswells and the best wave direction is from the south. The beach break provides left and right handers and there is also a left hand reef break. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
