Visitor reviews of Pambula Rivermouth surf break

  • February 26, 2011
    Phil Osopher from Australia

Have lived in the region for 11 years and have seen this place go off 3 times. I remember reading a surf guide which says this place can be world class. This is true, but you can grow old waiting for those perfect days.
This is not to say it isn't good most of the time, because the Rivo will offer some perfect little winter waves. Catch it on the right tide and a good time is guaranteed. The rights tend to be fast and take-off position is critical. The locals are very friendly and the feel in the water mostly is fairly mellow. Can get a bit spooky though, with the river mouth known to produce some grey beasts.
A very beautiful place to visit though.
