Omaha in Northland is a fairly exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf Works best in offshore winds from the west. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northeast. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around low tide. A fairly popluar wave that can sometimes get crowded Beware of locals and sharks.

This break only has anything on it when the swell is coming from the the east. However the reports for Omaha are also applicable for the neighboring Tawharanui break which is a bit more consistent with it being open to the more common northerly swell.

I would like to point out that the Omaha bar doesn't exist any more .
