North Tabourie on the South Coast is an exposed reef break that has pretty consitent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the west. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast. A choice of left and right reefs. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Watch out for urchins, rips, rocks, locals and sharks.

They are also significant for windsurfers and other water users that tend to venture further off-shore.
