North Stradbroke-Cylinders on the Gold Coast is an exposed reef break that usually has waves. The optimum time of year for waves is autumn. The best wind direction is from the south. Waves more likely to be from local windswells than distant groundswells and the ideal wave angle is from the northeast. There is a right breaking reef. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Beware of sharks and jellyfish.
