Newport-The Box in Oregon_South is a reasonably exposed beach break that has consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. Offshore winds are from the east with some shelter here from north winds. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the southwest. The beach breaks peel to the right. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for rips and sharks.
