Neck Bay Surf Forecast and Surf Reports

(Australia – Bruny Island)

Surf-default-break-image
Name: Neck Bay
Type: beach
Reliability: consistent
Best Swell: S Offshore Wind: NW

Neck Bay on the West Coast is an exposed beach break that has dependable surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the northwest. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the south. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Beware of rips and sharks.

IMPORTANT: Beta version feature! Swell heights are open water values from NWW3. There is no attempt to model near-shore effects. Coastal wave heights will generally be less, especially if the break does not have unobstructed exposure to the open ocean.
