Magheroarty Strand in Donegal is an exposed point break that only works once in a while. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Offshore winds are from the south and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Easily blown out by onshore winds Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the north northwest. The point break provides left and right handers. Good surf at all stages of the tide. An uncrowded break, even when it is working.
