Kaolin in Brittany is an exposed reef break that only works when conditions are just right. Summer in particular tends to be flat. The best wind direction is from the northeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. There is a right hand reef break. Best around low tide. Sometimes crowded. Beware of rocks and rips.

FEATURE UPDATE: we now show red swell icons for 'open sea' swells that are travelling in an unfavourable direction for the surf break. In places, these swells may still wrap around coastlines and produce smaller waves at some breaks. They are also significant for windsurfers and other water users that tend to venture further off-shore.
