Forresters in Newcastle is a quite exposed reef break that has very consistent surf. Autumn and winter are the best times of year for waves. Offshore winds are from the northwest. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the optimum swell angle is from the south. A choice of left and right reefs. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Beware of rocks and sharks.
