(Italy – West Coast)

Today's Focene or Baraonda Sea Water Temperature is: 13.6 °C (56 °F)

Statistics for 14 Feb (1981–2005) – mean: 13.7 °C, range: 13.1 °C to 14.4 °C (mean 57 °F, range: 56 °F to 58 °F)

Cool Focene or Baraonda water temperature today (13 °C / 56 °F) and cold weather (windchill of 1 °C / 34 °F) but at least there should be some sunshine to help stay warm. We suggest wearing a good spring wetsuit, ideally with a neoprene hood, maybe neoprene boots and gloves too.

Focene or Baraonda Water Temperature Graph

All of the graphs for the surf breaks presented on Surf-Forecast.com are on the same scale to enable comparison between locations around the world.

Focene or Baraonda sea temperatures peak in the range 23 to 28°C (73 to 82°F) on around the 9th of August and are at their lowest on about the 29th of February, in the range 13 to 14°C (55 to 57°F). Year round warm sea temperatures at Focene or Baraonda climb to their warmest in early to mid August. Even then a rash vest and board shorts should be fine for surfing at any time of year. The lowest sea temperatures at Focene or Baraonda in late February are ideally suited to a 4/3mm wetsuit + 3mm boots, although a 5/3mm wetsuit may be preferable for longer sessions and cold windy days.

Actual sea surface water temperatures close to shore at Focene or Baraonda can vary by several degrees compared with these open water averages. This is especially true after heavy rain, close to river mouths or after long periods of strong offshore winds. Offshore winds cause colder deep water to replace surface water that has been warmed by the sun. Air temperature, wind-chill and sunshine should also be considered before deciding on the kind of wetsuit needed to stay warm when surfing at Focene or Baraonda.
