Dunaverty Bay on the West Coast is a very sheltered beach break that only works once in a while. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the north. Usually gets local windswells, but groundswells do happen and the ideal wave direction is from the northwest. The beach break provides left and right handers. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Watch out for rocks.

In places, these swells may still wrap around coastlines and produce smaller waves at some breaks. They are also significant for windsurfers and other water users that tend to venture further off-shore.
