Once a decade, a big swell typhoon hit so strong that there's a 15 foot waves brake on the outer reef of Uchiumi. Is called Curren's point cause in 1992 Tom Carrol was the first who surfed it.
|Jon||It wasn't 1992 but 1991. And this is not Tom Carrol it's Tom Curren. That why they call it Curren's point... He went out there solo and was joined by Carrol and a young Slater who was freaked out he took 3 waves and came in. He was only 19 and already ripping but those were the biggest waves he had ever surfed up to that point.|
