Curransport in Donegal is an exposed beach break that has inconsistent surf with no particular seasonal pattern. Offshore winds are from the southeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Easily blown out by onshore winds Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. There is no beach break and there is left hand reef break too. Best around high tide. Even when the surf is up, crowds are unknown. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
