Bowls in Okinawa is a sheltered reef break that has inconsistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the east northeast. Usually gets local windswells, but groundswells do happen and the best wave direction is from the north. A reef breaks left. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for coral, urchins, rips and sharks.
