Barra do Una wave is moody. It has two type of waves, a beach-break in the middle/right side of the beach, that works consistently, and a super-rare river-mouth left that starts working only with 5-6 feet. The beach-break is hollow and fast, providing tubes, a fairly consistent and powerful wave. The river-mouth is a little mushy when it breaks, making paddling difficult. However when it's working it's a long and playful wave, of almost 100-150 meters, which gets hollow in the end providing tube riding. Only locals and knowers surf in this spot. Watch out for the backwash!
